We offer routine and referred treatment, care, and health checks to patients in Bristol. This includes day-to-day medication administration and wound management as well as personal care for catheters, PICC lines and more. You can see our full list of services here.
Our nurses have extensive experience working in the NHS and The Independent Nurse is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and has been accepted as a CQC standard healthcare provider. This means that you can enjoy a personal service, with the same recognition as an NHS service. These accreditations also mean that we’re able to liaise directly with GPs and other medical professionals.
Unfortunately not. While we offer a wide range of NHS services we do have to charge. This is because we are run independently and not funded by the government. The price of our care and support takes into consideration the individual patient, the care plan and time/equipment required. Even a blood pressure reading appointment may take over an hour.
When you get in touch with us, either for a routine or referred service, we’ll arrange an appointment, usually within 24 hours in our North Bristol clinic.
Upon arrival, we’ll carry out a full assessment of your condition and particular health concern before explaining the treatment we recommend. We’re also able to answer any questions and explain the equipment used to give you extra peace of mind.
After the service has been carried out, we’ll create a report and relay this back to yourself and your GP if necessary. We’ll also put together a nursing care package with recommendations, advice, and suggestions for any additional treatment.
Yes, that’s one of the biggest advantages of The Independent Nurse. You’ll be assigned a private nurse who will attend all appointments and provide a consistent level of personal care that you just can’t get in the NHS.

First things first, you should know that our team of nurses go above and beyond to ensure that your care and treatment is of an extremely high standard. However, if you still want to make a complaint, you must do so in writing. All complaints are dealt with according to a strict policy that is CQC compliant - in the same way they are dealt with in the NHS.
Some services are POR because of varying treatment options, depending on the patient. While each treatment costs the same for individuals, there are various options to consider which we will explain to you thoroughly.
We provide a lot of care for older people in the community who unfortunately don’t live near loved ones. Whether you want someone to ensure they’re taking their medication or need a medical professional to carry out routine checks, we’re the team to turn to. After each appointment, we can also communicate any findings and results with you.
