If you are looking to boost your B12 levels then this service is for you.
You can use this service in a variety of ways;
Vitamin B12 is a prescription only medicine (POM). We only provide prescription medications for health and well-being purposes. We use our partner provider, VitB12shot, who supply our prescriptions using clinicians who are all registered with CQC and GMC.
As part of your consultation our prescribers will assess your information and suitability to determine whether it is safe to proceed with a B12 Injection.
Once suitability has been confirmed one of our registered nurses will administer the B12 injection into your deltoid muscle in the upper arm.
Vitamin B12 is essential for red blood cell production and keeping your nervous system working properly. It helps fight fatigue and regulates mood.
If you have a B12 deficiency, you may experience the following:
Many things can cause a deficiency in vitamin B12, including:
Diet: You are at risk if you have an unhealthy diet, are vegan, vegetarian or have a dairy-free diet.
Pernicious Anaemia: This is a condition where your immune system mistakenly attacks cells in your stomach that produces a protein needed to absorb vitamin B12.
Medical conditions: Some conditions that affect your stomach or intestines like Crohn's disease or a gastrectomy.
Once it has been determined that it is safe for you to have B12 injections, we would proceed with a a loading schedule of 4 injections in a 4 weeks period. B12 Injections usually last for between 6-8 weeks and a maintenance injection is usually given after this timeframe depending on how you feel.
We inject B12 in the form of Hydroxocobalamin, which is a manufactured version of Vitamin B12, licensed for use in the UK.
